Where does the time go? 'Miracle on the Hudson' was four years ago today
NEW YORK CITY —
Remarkably, it's been four years since Capt. Sully Sullenberger landed US Airways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River. Below are the radio transmissions between control at LaGuardia Airport and the captain. It is utterly remarkable — looking back now — how calm Sully was. "We're gonna be in the Hudson," he said calmly when asked if he wanted clearance to land at Newark Liberty Airport.
