INEPT SENATE SHOWS IT'S NOT ALWAYS INEPT

Make no mistake about it folks -- this Congress couldn't be more inept.

But for a moment, thanks to a last-millisecond compromise brokered by Vice President Joe Biden and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., the Senate was able, at 2 a.m. today, to pass a bill that would ensure America was only over the cliff for a few hours -- and it actually appeared as if the nation's so-called leaders were, well, leading.

And so now the measure heads to the House -- and there's a lot of uncertainty there.

But the bottom line is simple.

Biden, McConnell and the Senate, when needed, worked.

They demonstrated that bipartisan deals aren't all that bad. And they're certainly not impossible.

Will the House follow? Or, will they just go back to showing us how inept they are?

We can only hope for the former.
