Show Producer, Contributor, Guest Host and Host
• Responsible for preparing all aspects of the show and the editorial direction and tone of each show.
• Contact and book all guests.
• Closely advise host on topics to avoid, topics to cover and how to approach covering them; advise host on most other issues, also.
• Find, prepare, and edit all video content (sports- and non-sports-related) using iMovie ’09.
• Contribute on-air, live for thirty minutes each show and with a daily recorded “Canessa Commentary,” which I write, record and edit.
• Inform the host of all breaking news in sports, news and entertainment.

• Was responsible for assisting the Managing Editor in all aspects of magazine and website, including management of 7 junior staffers.
• Wrote magazine-style and length stories on diversity issues (including LGBT, women's issues, minority under-representation).
• Wrote daily stories for Web on all diversity-related issues, primarily business-related.
• Read, edited, copy edited, and proofed all copy from junior staff for Web and magazine.
• Directed video studio (three HD-DV cameras, soundboard, fader) and edited all videos for Web site using iMovie.

• Severed as acting managing editor for five months.

• Completely redesigned existing Web site.

The Hudson Line Blog, Hudson County, NJ 2006-2009 Founder and Publisher
• Created site from scratch while Editor of The Observer newspaper. 
• Wrote news relevant to Hudson County, the surrounding communities, New Jersey and the country at-large.
• Wrote a regular column, “The Canessa Corner,” on many diverse topics.
• Created and edited audio and video packages for the site using iMovie and Garage Band software.

The Observer Newspaper, Kearny, NJ 2006-2008 Editor. Senior Staff Position
Supervision functions:
• Was responsible for redesigned layout of the newspaper’s Web site in 2007.
• Led a newsroom that included two staff writers and as many as ten freelance correspondents.
• Ensured all deadlines were met by full-time and freelance staffs and conducted budget meetings three times each week to monitor progress.
• Taught workshops for staff and the public on functions of Quark, Photoshop, iMovie, and Garage Band software applications.

Online responsibilities:
• Created, edited and cut all audio and video used on the newspaper’s Web site to augment print stories.
• Integrated a blog with the newspaper’s Web site for daily content, story updates, commentary, breaking news, audio, and video.
• Was responsible for choosing and uploading all Web site content, including stories, audio, video, and touched-up photography.

Writing, editorial, and creative arts:
• Was responsible for the entire editorial content of the newspaper (circulation of 33,500) and Web site (with 100,000 page views monthly).
• Designed the entire newspaper, using QuarkXPress, including appropriate graphics, charts, and illustrations.
• Wrote stories and editorials for both print and online publications.
• Created section “International Neighborhood,” which included features on the diverse population of readership area.
