Gymnasium named for former Hudson Sheriff

HONORING A LIFETIME OF SERVICE — Family members of former Hudson County Sheriff, longtime youth athletics coach and Lincoln High School football star the late Peter J. DiNardo recently attended a ceremony unveiling a plaque commemorating the renaming of the Hudson County Youth Detention Center's Gymnasium in Secaucus "The Peter J. DiNardo Jr. Memorial Gymnasium." On hand for the ceremony were, from left, his son Peter J. DiNardo III; his wife of 43 years, Margaret DiNardo; and his sisters, Anna Marie Lenoci, Gloria Westerfield, Terry Miggliozzi. A contingent of nearly 30 family members and a host of public officials took part in the memorial that celebrated DiNardo's colorful life and his outstanding contributions to Jersey City and Hudson County.
